Hello, I'm Amelia Bodenstein, the photographer and storyteller behind
Golden-Thread Photography.
My photography journey began in 2009, when I started my business, Amelia Photography. Over the years, I had the privilege of capturing countless beautiful moments from weddings and pre-wedding celebrations to family portraits, portfolios, kitchen teas, beloved pets and so much more.
In 2017, I stepped away from photography for a while, but my love for capturing life's precious moments never truly left me. And now, I've returned with a renewed passion and a beautiful new vision
Golden-Thread Photography.
Why Golden-Thread?
Because I believe our lives are made up of little moments, woven together like golden threads, creating the beautiful story of who we are.
My dream is not simply to photograph you once, but to become part of your journey. From the excitement of falling in love and preparing for your wedding, to building your home, growing your family and celebrating all the wonderful milestones along the way.
As a wife, mother and proud grandmother, I understand how quickly life passes and how precious those memories become.

02. Do you travel for destination weddings?
Absolutely! I'd love to travel to capture your special moments!
Whether it's a wedding, family celebration or another beautiful occasion, I'm more than happy to bring Golden-Thread Photography to you!
For locations beyond 100 km, additional travel costs and one night's accommodation will be for the client's account.
Distance should never stand in the way of capturing beautiful memories!
03. How do you handle family photos on the wedding day?
Family photographs are such a special part of your wedding day, and I believe a little planning makes everything run beautifully!
Before your wedding, I'll arrange for a designated helper, often your Maid of Honour, to assist with gathering family members for the different photo combinations.
I usually recommend taking family photographs after the ceremony or bridal portrait session, depending on your wedding timeline. If you've booked a second photographer, they can take care of the family portraits while I whisk you away for your romantic bridal couple shoot.
Whenever possible, I love scheduling your couple portraits around the magical Golden Hour, when the soft, warm light creates the most beautiful, romantic photographs.
Of course, every wedding is unique, and I'm always happy to plan the photography schedule around your wishes.
My goal is to keep everything relaxed, organised and enjoyable, so you can focus on making beautiful memories!
04. Do you offer engagement sessions?
Absolutely! In fact, I believe a pre-wedding shoot is one of the most valuable parts of our journey together!
It's so much more than just taking beautiful photographs. It's our opportunity to get to know each other, share some laughter, build trust and help you feel completely comfortable in front of my camera.
By the time your wedding day arrives, we'll already feel like familiar friends, allowing you to relax, be yourselves and simply enjoy every precious moment while I capture your love story naturally.
You'll also get a lovely preview of my photography style and how I capture those special, genuine moments.
Some of my wedding packages already include a pre-wedding shoot, while others offer it as an optional extra.
I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to every couple, because beautiful photographs begin with trust, connection and a little bit of fun!
